CPUT Application for Accommodation 2024-2025
In order to facilitate their integration into the school, CPUT has provided housing for all admitted students. This page contains more information about the CPUT Accommodation Application 2024-2025. Continue reading.
application submission procedure
There are two sections on the CPUT Registration Office application form: academic and housing. As a result, the two parts can now travel independently to the academic divisions and the housing unit at the same time.
This enables student interaction, placement, and selection. This also enables the unit to collect first-year student applications without the need for a contract through its staff component.
Seniors enrolled in CPUT who did not live in the residences the semester before applying are considered first-time applicants for residences. The following criteria will be used to determine whether to accommodate first-time applicants:
Registration correspondence
- Current letters to prospective first-year students from academic departments must be updated (Bellville Campus). The letters are written by various departments and occasionally refer to a Placement Officer who left the organization five years ago. Housing should be delegated housing details by academic departments because they will handle applications on their own.
First Year students
First-year students must receive at least 30% of all available housing units. During the selection period in October and November, first-year students who have taken and passed the matric exam will be chosen and placed. If their matric results are still pending at the time of selection, first-year students can only be chosen and placed at the start of the year. The Housing Unit will select them based on the following criteria:
- that they applied for accommodation
- proof of having passed matric
- acceptance to study at CPUT
First-time applicants
Seniors enrolled in CPUT who did not live in the residences the semester before applying for residences are considered first-time applicants. To determine whether to accommodate first-time applicants, the following criteria will be used:
- 60% of the subjects for which exams were written were passed.
- Candidates must reside more than 60 kilometers from the university.
- availability of space
After first-year and returning students have been assigned, open positions will be assigned to first-year and returning students.
Returning students
Students who have previously lived in residences for at least one semester are considered returning residents. Returning students will be accommodated in their homes once more if the following conditions are met:
- 60% of the students who took examinations for pass them.
- The previous semester, they submitted an accommodation request.
- 60% of the subjects for which exams were written were passed.
Students on experiential learning
While participating in experiential learning, no student may live in a CPUT residence for more than six months. During that time, only students enrolled in the three-month experiential learning program are permitted to stay in the apartments. If a student requested accommodations the previous semester, they will be permitted to return to the dormitories following their learning experience.
