CPT has established a set of application requirements for the academic year 2024-2025. The application requirements are detailed on this page. Continue reading to find out more.
Each university has its own set of guidelines that applicants must follow. Please keep in mind that you must meet the specific requirements for your chosen candidate qualification in order to be admitted to CPUT. For an application to be accepted quickly, all requirements must be met.
Before applying, candidates must be aware of the minimum APS Score established by cput.

Admission Requirement
Under Programs and fees, you can find the admission requirements for the various CPUT programs. You may also be required to take a number of exams in order to be placed.
Students enrolled in the Cambridge system should be aware of the following prerequisites:
- At least five IGCSE and HIGCSE topics must be passed, with at least two at the HIGCSE level.
a passing grade in the university’s primary language of instruction (English or Afrikaans).
Passing grades: A, B, or C for IGCSE; 1, 2, or 3 for HIGCSE.
Additional senior school credentials will be considered.
