UL’s specifications
- The candidate must be at least 18 years old to be eligible.
- At your elementary school, you have a good reputation.
- On a 4.0 scale, grades must be 3.0 or higher (GPAs under 3.0 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will require additional documents outlined in a section below)
- You must be a sophomore, junior, or senior when the program begins. Candidates for UCT must have completed at least three semesters of school (first-semester sophomores can apply). Certain courses at a local university may be unavailable to students in their sophomore year. Please contact your IES Abroad Representative for more information.
Admission to the University of Limpopo is based on the following criteria:
- *Remember that the admission requirements outlined in the prospectus must be met or exceeded. Only bachelor’s degree holders are eligible to apply.
1.1 Bachelors without a National Senior Certificate are exempt (NSC)
To be accepted into any undergraduate program offered by the University of Limpopo, prospective NSC students must meet the following requirements:
- At least three levels of success in terms of life orientation (3).
According to the university’s language policy, English as a language of learning and teaching with a proficiency level of at least three is required (3). - Minimum performance standards in specific subjects as listed in the calendar for each faculty provided that:
- For degree programs, four 20-credit subjects with a minimum NSC achievement level of four were completed (4).
- For diploma programs, four 20-credit subjects with a minimum NSC achievement level of three were completed (3).
- The required Admission Point Score is listed on each Faculty’s Calendar (APS).

- Step 2: Please keep in mind that the online application handling fee is R200 for South African applicants and R750 for those residing outside of South Africa. Deposits should be made to the University of Limpopo, Standard Bank Account No. 030131405, and should be referenced with the applicant’s ID or passport number.
- Step 3 will give you the following important details about the online application process. The online application process will: help you decide how to proceed with your application.
- You can proceed to the next step by clicking the next button at the bottom of each page.
- An asterisk (*) indicates that a field or question is required.
- Step 4: After answering the questions below, continue with your application until the computer generates a student number.
