Dates of Application Opening and Closing
- From July 1 to November 30, 2023, the Mangosuthu University of Technology Online Application will be available. Consequently, Mpumalanga University encourages prospective students to submit their applications for the 2024 academic year via the application form (Hard-Copy) as soon as possible.
How long will MUT take to respond to your application?
- As per MUT, application confirmation takes some time. After the application deadline, MUT may take six to eight weeks to respond. This means that you can check on your application status six weeks after the deadline.
Fee for MUT Online Application 2024-2025
- Please be aware that all payments should be made to the account listed below at Mut Bank. Any individual claiming to represent the institution may not receive payments.
A semester registration deposit of R1650 or an annual registration deposit of R2750 must be paid before an applicant or student can register.
If you are a beneficiary of NSFAS, you are not required to pay the deposit. However, you will be informed that you are able to register via SMS prior to the registration deadline.
Mangosuthu University of Technology’s admission requirements are as follows:
To participate in the NVC at NQF Level 2, you must meet the following requirements:
a report at the end of the year for grades 9, 10, 11, or 12, a qualification from NQF Level 1, an approved bridging program designed specifically for accessing NQF Level 2, or an RPL assessment that meets the fundamental requirements for accessing NQF Level 2.

Documents required for admission to Mangosuthu University of Technology
At the time of registration, the application fee (only applicable to new students) and the class fee are due.
The following must be included in all new applications:
- Six certified copies of the Learner’s ID, including the most recent school report, results statement, and Grade 12 or N3 certificate.
Two official copies of the ID/Parent. Guardian’s one ID-sized picture of the student.
The application period, which begins each year in April, should be started as soon as possible.

- a certified copy of your identification document, which is required for South African citizens; proof of payment for the registration fee (required for international and SA applicants); Unless you provide a certified copy of your identification and passport number (for international applicants), your application will not be processed.
Results from the final 12th grade exam (if available). If you are currently in 12th grade, your grade 11 results are very important for your application. Therefore, always have it on hand.
You will need a unique email address whether you apply online or in person.
You can submit a paper application by printing the forms from the links below and mailing them to the Admissions Office at the address on the right if you are unable to apply online.
How to Check the Status of a MUT Application in 2024-2025
You can use the log-in information you received during the initial application process to check the status of your application after it has been submitted.
- Please visit the MUT application status tracker page at https://www.cao.ac.za/, then click “My Application” to monitor your application’s progress.
For verification, enter your personal information here.
To see where your application stands, simply enter the required information and click the next button.
In addition, you will be able to see which documents have been received and whether additional documents are needed to finish your application.
Your department will make a decision within the timeframes it has established. You will be notified via email when the Office of Admissions receives the department’s decision.
You can check the status of your application at any time by logging in to your MUT applicant portal.
