sassa money not in my account 2024-2025
If you have been approved for a SASSA grant but haven’t opted for a bank deposit, there are alternative methods to receive your payment. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) offers social relief grants to individuals experiencing financial need and unemployment. For permanent social benefits such as the foster care grant, elderly grant, and disability grant, payments are scheduled on specific days each month, starting from the second day. Social Relief Distress (SRD) grant recipients do not have a fixed payment date and receive compensation on a date determined by the court. Beneficiaries have the flexibility to choose their preferred payment method and utilize their SASSA cards to access their grants at participating retailers and merchants.
Here are the various options available for receiving R350 SRD grants:
- Post Bank/CashSend Services:
Even if you haven’t opted for a bank account, you can still receive your R350 grant through a CashSend transaction using PostBank services. This method allows beneficiaries to withdraw their grant money using their ID cards and registered phone numbers. However, it’s important that the registered phone number belongs to the grant applicant and is a personal phone number.
- Checkers, PicknPay, Shoprite, Usave & Boxer Stores:
SASSA has expanded the options for grant recipients to receive their payments, making the process more efficient. Beneficiaries can now collect their grants at authorized stores such as Checkers, Boxer, or PicknPay. However, it’s worth noting that BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing, and Pick n Pay Liquor outlets are not authorized to distribute grants. Prior to visiting the store, beneficiaries should wait for an SMS notification indicating that their grant is ready for collection.
- SASSA Card:
Beneficiaries of SASSA grants have the choice to have their grant money deposited onto their SASSA card, which does not incur any fees unless used for services not covered by SASSA. To obtain a SASSA card, applicants can apply through representatives at the South African Post Office.
