UCT online registration dates 2024-2025
The deadline for prospective students to register online for the upcoming academic year at the University of Cape Town (UCT) has been announced. It is critical for prospective students to be aware of the various registration dates for UCT Online.
UCT UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT REGISTRATION DATE
| 29 January 2022 | Residences are open for all new students. |
| 31 January 2022 | Science Faculty orientation and registration commences |
| 2 February 2022 | Compulsory orientation activities & registration for all new students |
| 14 February 2022 | First day of lectures |
UNDERGRADUATE RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION
This rule applies to all students who are academically qualified to return and were enrolled in a BSc program at UCT prior to the start of the current academic year.
UCT Registration Dates
In December, the system will release the final academic year’s results. On January 1, the results of the January supplementary, deferred, and summer term exams will be made public.
- Between January 20 and January 28, 2022, all returning students who do not have any unresolved issues or missing results must register online.
From the 31st of January to the 3rd of February, students with outstanding results—those taking supplementary, deferred, and summer term exams—must register.
Important note
- All students must register immediately rather than waiting until they return to Cape Town. There may be an R2000 late registration penalty for students who register late.
- Clearance, which includes checking for visas, medical aid, and fees, will also be done remotely for international students.
Students with outstanding fees
- Until your fee account is settled, you cannot register. Please be aware that students from South Africa can enroll without making a deposit up front. All international students must pay before registering.
