The following are the UKZN Online Application Requirements for undergraduate, postgraduate, and international students.

Undergraduate Requirements

• 1.1 Undergraduate degree applicants must have a National Senior Certificate for Degree Studies (NSC-Deg) or a Senior Certificate with endorsement.
• 1.2 Undergraduate diploma applicants must have a National Senior Certificate for Diploma Studies (NSC-Dip) or Senior Certificate. To learn more, follow this link.

Requirements for Postgraduate Education

• A suitable Bachelor’s degree OR admission to the status of that degree under Rule GR7(a) OR achievement of the level of competence specified in Rule GR7 (b)
• A School/College may establish additional criteria for admission to study. College Handbooks are available at www.ukzn.ac.za.
• If the HEQF (Higher Education Qualification Framework) requirements are met, some schools/colleges may accept an Advanced Diploma for entry into a Postgraduate Diploma. Follow this link to learn more.

Students from other countries Requirements

• International applicants are chosen based on academic merit and space availability. To determine their eligibility for admission to South African degree studies, non-South African school leavers must contact the South African Matriculation Board directly. • International applicants with two A-levels (‘A’ – ‘E’) and three O-level passes (‘A’, ‘B’, or ‘C’) may be eligible for AEB or Cambridge exam exemption. However, certain subject groupings are also required. Simply passing O-levels is insufficient. To learn more, click here.
