Eligibility: Honours, Masters and Doctoral students who are admitted or registered by 28 February 2020 will be considered for the UP Postgraduate Bursary. If provisionally awarded as an admitted student, you must register at the time of being informed by DRI that the award has provisionally being granted to you. How to Apply:

Students who register for Masters or Doctoral degree programmes at the University of Pretoria are automatically considered for this bursary but no guarantee that an award will be granted.
Provisionally awardees will need to complete an agreement that will be forwarded to their primary email address as per the UP Peoplesoft system.

Fees and Funding

Once you have been accepted to study the programme of your choice, fees are payable. There are average costs per year per programme, but in some programmes, there may be differences, depending on the costs of the individual modules that you choose. Fees refer to the total tuition costs, but remember that you will still have to add in extra costs for textbooks, essential photocopying and printing, transport, food and accommodation. You can apply for funding to help pay your fees. Funding takes the form of bursaries, scholarships and loans. There are financial aid options available through the NSFAS, in the form of a bursary which is not repayable. There are also bursaries available, which are generally given based on academic merit. BRIEF ON NSFAS OR BURSARY APPLICATION

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) was formed in terms of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. NSFAS is a bursary scheme which provides poor and working class South African students with fully subsidised free higher education and training.
