Origin
The symbol of the bee changed into taken from the coat of hands of the University, wherein the Dexter head incorporates 3 bees on a red field. The bees characterize hobby and were taken from the coat of arms of Pretoria.
In 1999 the newly appointed University Archivist, Prof K.L. Harris, determined to design a coat of hands for the Archive to represent the picture of the Archive in seen form.
