  • Visit the Stellenbosch University online application window to apply for admission to undergraduate degrees (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, and degrees), honors degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and master’s and doctoral degrees for the upcoming academic year.
  • To be considered for admission to Stellenbosch University’s (SU) undergraduate or graduate programs, you must fill out an online application on the university’s website.

Registration paperwork requirements

  • Students using assisted registration on the Stellenbosch campus must present the originals of the following documents when registering during the faculty-determined registration period:
    In 2020, the NSC or IEB final exams for leaving school will be released.
    Candidates who intend to take the NSC or IEB and have earned their National Senior Diploma prior to 2019
    Candidates from international school systems: The South African Matriculation Board is responsible for issuing certificates of exemption from university and certificates of leaving school.
    Candidates who have attended college in the past: an original academic record or transcript, a university-issued certificate of good conduct, and the documents mentioned in clauses (b) or (c) above.
    If you are not a South African citizen, you must electronically send additional supporting documentation to intpreregistration@sun.ac.za in order to be granted pre-registration. Check to see that your student ID number is on every document.)
    a certified copy of your most recent passport, a certified copy of your most recent student visa, or proof of your country of permanent residence in South Africa; certified proof of South African health insurance (for those with study visas);
    Payment evidence (SU International’s financial administrators must approve any scholarships or bursaries).
