You can apply any time of the year to enroll for a UPOnline program before up online application deadline 2022-2023.
UPOnline programs have 6 start dates throughout the year.
Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the start date. Any applications received after this deadline will be considered for the subsequent start date.
You should complete only one online application per program. Once you are admitted into the online program, you will need to register for your first module. After completion of the first module, you will register for the second one, and so forth until you have successfully completed all the required modules.
The relevant faculties/departments/schools will process the applications on an ongoing basis.
Module calendar
Short modules will be presented over 8 weeks. An 8-week module typically consists of 7 weeks of teaching and 1-week recess.
Long modules will be presented over 16 weeks. A 16-week module typically consists of 14 weeks of teaching and 2 weeks of recess.
The start date is the date on which your module will commence.
The payment deadline is 5 days from the module start date. If payment is not received by the payment deadline, access to Blackboard/clickUP is revoked.
Registration: You must register for each module before the registration deadline. Registration opens 4 weeks before the session starts and closes one day before the module session commences.

Once you have made an initial inquiry and it has been established by the UP Online Call Centre that you are an eligible student, you will receive communication from the University of Pretoria. This communication will provide you with a link that will give you direct access to the University of Pretoria’s Online Study Application System. This link includes a unique token for your online study application that can only be used once. Copy and paste this link into your browser’s address line. The URL will open the landing page of the University of Pretoria’s online study application system.
You will be required to provide an email address to which the University can send communication. Please take care when providing your email address not to make typing errors. Note that there are four steps to complete and these steps must be done in sequential order so that the application is correctly started.
You will be required to capture personal and contact details, provide your previous tertiary education information, select your study choice, and upload a series of documents. You will need to have certain information ready, and have the supporting documents electronically available, without which you will not be able to complete your online application.
