Online registration is now available for returning undergraduate and graduate students at the University of the Witwatersrand, or Wits. The pre-registration, registration, and registration papers for 2024 are listed in full below.
Deadline for University of Witwatersrand applications The following deadlines must be adhered to by applicants:

• September 2024 has been set as the deadline for WITS Admission Registration for 2024 and 2025.
  All Health Sciences programs, including Architecture, Audiology, Film and Television, and Speech-Language Pathology, require undergraduate applications by June 2024.
  The University of the Witwatersrand application portal is expected to close on the same day.

STEP 1 – Fill out an online application

• Visit www.wits.ac.za/applications/ to submit an online application.
• You can apply for up to three degrees—it doesn’t matter which one you choose.
  It is suggested that you apply to one program in a faculty with fewer restrictions (such as the Humanities, Commerce, or Science) if you want to apply to two programs in the same department.
  Keep your options open, especially if you’re applying to programs at engineering or health sciences faculties.
  Foreign applicants must pay R700, while South African citizens must pay R300.

STEP 2 – Application Acknowledgement

• The student self-service website, which can be found at https://self-service.wits.ac.za, will contain all university correspondence.
  A personal number, which will become your student number, will be provided in the email acknowledging receipt.

  Check the student self-service website frequently to see how your application is doing and what needs to be done.
