The University of the Witwatersrand’s Academic Registrar regularly invites qualified foreign and South African applicants to submit applications for the upcoming academic year’s programs. Only on specific dates in the year prior to the year of study are foreigners and South Africans admitted to undergraduate programs. Examine the following list of application deadlines to ensure that your application is received on time.
Applications for admission to Wits will go on sale in May 2024 and close in August that same year.

The Application Fee Must Be Paid

• There is a non-refundable application fee of R100 for South African citizens.
• For foreign citizens, there is a non-refundable application fee of R700.
• Payments must be made before the deadlines.
• Use your Person Number or T Number as a reference.

Please include any supporting documentation.

• You can now upload supporting documents through the student self-service portal at https://self-service.wits.ac.za if you did not do so when you applied.
  To log in, enter your personal number (not your T number) and the first six digits of your ID.
  Please send the current students your final grades for 11th grade—no hard copy is required.
  Already logged in? You should upload certified copies of all of your graduation and exit certificates.
  Other educational establishments: For all tertiary registrations, please upload a certified copy of your official academic records and a statement or certificate attesting to your good character signed by your institution’s registrar. Please be aware that only the initial assessment will take into account GEMP applicants’ interim, self-service generated results.)
