- A score of at least 4 (or 50%) on the Life Orientation scale (NSC weight factor 2).
- A minimum of four (50%) points in mathematics OR a minimum of four (50%) points in mathematics literacy (using the NSC weight factor 3). (3rd NSC weight factor).
- Take all other 20-credit courses with at least a 4 (50%) OR add three 20-credit courses with at least a 4 (50%). (NSC weight factor 3). (1st NSC weight factor)
- Accounting, Business Studies, and Economics require a minimum of 4 (50%) (NSC weight factor 3) and Economics requires a minimum of 4 (50%) (NSC weight factor 3).
- A minimum of 4 (or 50%) in geography (NSC weight factor 3).
- For computer applications technology, the minimum score is 4 (or 50%). (3rd NSC weight factor).

From 40 to 49 percent of the four NSC 20 credit subjects, at least three are accepted.
When accounting and/or business studies are combined with math, a minimum score of 3 (40-49%) or 2 (30-39%) is required for mathematical literacy.
Exemption requires certified results from FET colleges as evidence of subject completion.
An interview could be carried out in order to achieve the objective of a development intervention.
