The new university is named after Walter Max Ulyate Sisulu, a hero of the South African liberation struggle and close friend of Nelson Mandela.
In October 2011, the Council, Management, and WSU stakeholders requested that WSU be put into administration. On April 30, 2014, the Administration’s term came to an end. Over the past two and a half years, numerous new systems and procedures have been implemented to stabilize the university and reorient the organization.
WSU is putting into action a significant turnaround plan to improve infrastructure and evaluate the academic enterprise, ICT infrastructure, financial viability, and human resources. A new institutional law was published on January 17, 2014, and a new council took over for Professor Lourens van Staden as an administrator in May 2014.

WSU’s online registration dates
- The application period for the class of 2024 will begin on May 1 and end in August 2024.
To apply, use the internet.
- Go to http://ngpi.wallst.ru/index-43.htm to register for the online system. making use of your email address and a password
- A link to activate your account will be sent to you via email after that.
Click the link to activate your registration.
Therefore, you must return to WSU and select the Admission/Another tab (it is critical that you select the correct button here). Enter your username and password from the first step.
Accept the terms and conditions by clicking the button before submitting your application.
After your application has been submitted, you are required to pay the R100 application fee. There are several choices offered by the system.
Please email us the deposit slip with your application number as a reference if you paid your application fee at a bank.
Your application will be processed after you have completed the previous steps, and you will be given a student number and a login.
